Jacksonville Light Boat Parade

One of the big events of the holiday season features thousands of lights, twinkling on the St. Johns River, followed by a spectacular fireworks demonstration – the Jacksonville Light Boat Parade.

2012 Jacksonville Light ParadeThe 2013 Jacksonville Light Boat Parade will feature a varied assortment of boats, festively decorated with lighted lights, to be visible from the north bank and the south bank of the downtown St. Johns riverfront on the evening of Saturday, November 30, 2013.  Following a parade of lighted boats, to start at 7 PM, there will be a fantastic fireworks display.

Many people view the Light Parade from along the river bank, in the area of the Jacksonville Landing.    All attendees are encouraged to bring their own chairs and blankets to the riverfront area, although there will be limited bleacher seating available in some areas (on a first come – first served basis) on Northbank Riverwalk behind the Times-Union Center of Performing Arts and at the corner of Coastline Dr. and Liberty Street.

The boats participating in the Jacksonville Light Boat Parade will make two laps, beginning at Metropolitan Park up the north bank of the river, past the Jacksonville Landing to the Fuller Warren Bridge, then circle and proceed back down the south bank of the river and down to the Duval County School Board Building.

The evening will conclude with a huge fireworks display, featuring signature “waterfalls”.
